Although the pyramid has a pyramidal geometric shape, its base can be triangular, quadrilateral, or polygonal.

When we think of pyramids, the first thing that often comes to mind is the Great Pyramid of Giza. That’s no surprise considering it was one of the most famous pyramids in the world, earning its place in the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

While seeing the Great Pyramid of Giza in real life might only be a dream, you can always draw a pyramid to view it from the comfort of your home!

How to Draw A Pyramid

Step 1

Start by drawing a diagonal line down the left side of the paper. This forms the left side of the pyramid.

Drawing a pyramid mainly depends on straight lines. So use a ruler at every step to quickly and easily draw straight lines.

Step 2

From the top of the diagonal line we drew earlier, draw a descending line leading to the right side. This forms the top of the pyramid.

If drawn correctly, this should form an inverted V-shaped line, as shown in the image above.

Step 3

Draw another diagonal line from the bottom of the diagonal line on the left. This forms the lower left part of the pyramid.

Remember that the endpoint of this line should line up with the top point where the two diagonal lines meet.

Step 4

Finish the shape of the pyramid by filling in the space of the outline. Just draw another diagonal line connecting the endpoints of the bottom left diagonal line and the top right diagonal line.

At this point, the outline or shape of the pyramid should be complete.

Step 5

Draw a vertical line down the center of the pyramid outline. This creates the illusion of size in the pyramid. Now the pyramid looks three-dimensional and lifelike!

Remember that this line should start from the ogive at the top and extend to the bottom point in the pyramid’s center.

Step 6

Draw more horizontal lines on the surface of the left side of the pyramid. This forms the different patterns of the pyramid.

Remember that all of these horizontal lines must be parallel to each other.

Step 7

Draw shorter vertical lines inside the horizontal spaces on the left side of the pyramid.

The vertical line should be drawn alternately, as shown in the image above, to create patterns that look similar to bricks.

Step 8

Having completed the patterns on the left side, let’s move on to the opposite side.

Similar to the previous steps, draw more parallel horizontal lines on the right side of the pyramid. The distances between the horizontal lines should be identical.

Step 9

Complete the pyramid templates by alternately drawing vertical lines in the horizontal spaces. This should form a pattern similar to the left side of the pyramid.

As you can see, the pyramid drawing is finally done. Now it’s just a touch of color away from making the pyramid look vibrant and colorful!

That’s it – we’ve successfully drawn a pyramid! Now it’s finally time for the most exciting part: choosing colors and coloring the pyramid!

Traditionally, the pyramids were covered with highly polished white limestone slabs. However, as they age, their colors may change over time.

What colors you use for the pyramid is entirely up to you! Feel free to choose any color you like, or use more than one color to create a unique, multicolored pyramid!
